Bar Boulud at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, 66 Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7LA

As the only London restaurant of Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud, Bar Boulud offers a truly special dining experience. A stylish bistro and wine bar specialising in seasonal, rustic French cooking, Bar Boulud’s relaxed ambience and fabulous cuisine has won plaudits from critics and diners alike.

Summer Pop-up Boulud Sud, which runs until August 31st offers patrons a sprightly, Mediterranean-inspired menu for the rest of this summer. On the menu are dishes such as lamb merguez with herbed couscous and yoghurt, and Harissa-spiced lamb lion with freekeh and aubergine. Your Buy Time PA can secure a table for you.

 

The Bar the Dog House at Bernardi’s  62 Seymour Street, London W1H 5BN

Bernardi’s has opened The Dog House, a new basement bar situated underneath the highly-acclaimed Marylebone restaurant.  The cocktail bar has a playful, relaxed look and feel, decorated in a rich colour palette of dark greys and blues to contrast with the light and airy feel of the upstairs restaurant. Serving up Italian cocktails, Negronis, Italian beer, cider, wine & cicheti.

Tate Modern Switch House Building  Bankside, London SE1 9TG

Herzog & de Meuron has designed a 10-storey Switch House extension of Tate Modern bringing fresh energy to London’s dining and drinking scene. Home to the ground floor 100-seater Switch House Bar, a new Members Room, a 150-cover Switch House Restaurant on the 9th Floor, and the 10th floor Viewing Gallery.

Cornish fish, home-cured Suffolk ham, Sacred gin distilled in north London and a craft lager specially created for the Tate by family brewery Fourpure in Bermondsey all feature.

Dishes include chalk-stream trout with leek vinaigrette, air-dried ham and horseradish velouté; duck pastrami with dates, blood-orange salad and balsamic jelly; and Victoria sponge with coconut cream, mango compote, mandarin gel, and orange and almond tuile. Have your dedicated Buy Time PA book ahead.

 

Trade Union  1 Thomas More Street, London E1W 1YZ

Trade Union is a new collaboration of some of London’s most exciting lifestyle brands; speciality coffeehouse Vagabond, male grooming brand Drakes of London and florists, Maua London. Located between St Katherine’s Docks and the new London Docks development, the venue will be a grown up playground for discerning Londoners who want more from their usual dining experience.

Foley’s  23 Foley Street, London, W1W 6DU

Following a successful six week pop-up (Foley’s Tasting Kitchen) in Shepherds Bush, the Foley’s permanent restaurant has finally opened its doors in Fitzrovia. Serving up a diverse range of modern world dishes inspired by the spice trail, it’s all brought together by Head Chef Mitz Vora, previously Sous Chef at The Palomar, and paired with a well- considered wine list and a specially designed cocktail menu.

The 70 cover restaurant, open for lunch and dinner, is set over 2 floors with an alfresco coffee bar and an open kitchen with bar seating enabling guests a view of the action.

 

 

Athenaeum

The Athenaeum  116 Piccadilly, Mayfair, W1J 7BJ

Having just undergone extensive refurbishment and rebranding, this hotel is back with a bold new look and enviable food and drink partnerships.

Galvin at The Athenaeum is the latest restaurant from Michelin-starred London chefs Chris and Jeff Galvin. Their first restaurant to move away from their trademark French-inspired menus, in favour of Britain’s delicious home-grown produce. An exciting array of new menus including Afternoon Tea and Private Dining feature a modern take on classic British dishes.  Take the evening off. Eneko at One Aldwych  1 Aldwych, Covent Garden, WC2B 4BZ

Opening:  August 1st

Three Michelin-star Chef Eneko Atxa will be bringing his inventive interpretation of Basque country cuisine to One Aldwych, from his restaurant Azurmendi, which is currently ranked number 19 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants. He plans  “to create an unpretentious modern take on rustic Basque cuisine, based on quality ingredients, simplicity and culinary heritage.” Stylish and relaxed, in the heart of London’s vibrant Covent Garden, the restaurant is now taking reservations from 1st August with 50% off food for the entire month. MAMIE’S will be serving up authentic crêpes and galettes over 3 floors as well as a bespoke Cidrothèque (cider cellar) in the basement.

 

 

Peru

Chicama Chelsea Peru 383 King’s Road, London SW10 0LP

Opening: 18th July

There’s a new Peruvian restaurant on the way to The King’s Road, Chicama, from the people behind Marylebone’s very successful Pachamama.

Renowned Head Chef Erren Nathaniel Maido, poached from a top Nikkei (meaning a mash up of Japanese and Peruvian food) restaurant in Peru, as well as Launceston Place, Viajante, Hélène Darroze at The Connaught and 28:50, will be putting together a menu based on coastal Peruvian cuisine – with the fish of the day at the centre of everything. Like Pachamama, expect a big focus on weekend brunches.
